Me and couple friends are going to italy this august and are trying to get an estimate on how much transportation will be. For example does anyone know how much a bus ride may cost or a train ticket in rome? We also plan to take the train from rome to milan and then from milan back to rome. just estimates is all im looking for. thanks for any help
Answer on Transportation costs in Italy?
Bus and subway/metro ticket is 1 € and its valid for 75minutes , wich means u can get bus or metros as much as u want in those 75 mins (only in one direction if u are travelling with the metro).
If you are stayimg for a week u can get a weekly pass about 16-20 € or u can get a Roma Pass (available in termini station or in tourists point) which costs 20€ and u also have free entrance to a series of roma attraction such as the colusseum or museums , and some other small attractions.
Otherwise u can book an hotel really downtown , i work in one in piazza viattorio and tourists can preatty much walk everywhere(unfortunately we close in august!) .
Just be careful subway stops early at night about midnight or earlier on weekdays but there are night busses (N in front of the number ) or u can either catch a taxi (quite expensive , but if its 3-4 of u u can split and that's the best option)
To check trains from rome to milan u can check www.trenitalia.it i think its about 30-40 € , but milan its not that nice u 'd better check firenzi and siena/pisa..u r gonna love em!
I hope u enjoy your stay in Rome !!!
